According to an insider from the Chinese software provider Kingsoft, because the company will move its Beijing office to the new office building at Shangdi, Haidian District, in March 2009, a few employees have already handed in their resignation letters.
The new Kingsoft office building, which is a seven-level building located at the Shangdi Information Industry Zone, is equipped with various leisure facilities. After moving to the new building, Kingsoft will provide free working meals and free parking spaces to employees. However, Kingsoft has not announced any traffic subsidy policy related to the relocation and according to the tradition of the company, it will not offer shuttle services to its employees. Therefore, the traffic problem caused the resignations of some employees.
In May 2008, Kingsoft announced plans to invest CNY175 million to wholly acquire this building as its new Beijing headquarters to meet its demand for expansions of operation and business.
