Sales Plummet For Taiwan's Siliconware Precision Industries

Taiwan-based Siliconware Precision Industries Company Ltd. announced that its sales revenues for the fourth quarter of 2008 were TWD1.24 billion, which represented a 27.8% decrease in revenues compared to the third quarter of 2008 and a 29.8% decline in revenues compared to the fourth quarter of 2007.
Feeling the force of the financial crisis, SPIL reported a net loss of TWD1.03 billion for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared with a net income of TWD3.19 billion and a net income of TWD4.77 billion for the third quarter of 2008 and the fourth quarter of 2007, respectively.
The company's cash balances totaled TWD17.87 billion as of December 31, 2008 from TWD13.08 billion as of September 30, 2008.
