China Techfaith has announced the launch of nine new mobile phones designed specifically for China's 3G network.
The nine new models are from three different product lines and are part of a partnership with aigo, a Chinese digital products manufacturer.
Wilson Cai, deputy CEO of TechFaith, stated, "The launch of nine 3G mobile phones under the aigo brand name in China demonstrates our strength in mobile phone development and solidifies our strong relationship with aigo. Right now is the ideal time for TechFaith to launch middle to high end products through the aigo brand in China and we are confident these 3G mobile phones will be successful for the recently rolled-out 3G network."
The phones include five dual-mode GSM phones: three are WCDMA plus GSM phones designed for China Unicom subscribers and two are CDMA plus GSM phones designed for China Telecom CDMA subscribers.
There are also two modem card phones, one of which utilizes a HSDPA modem card and the other uses an EVDO modem card.
The final two models have GPS functionality and run on CDMA1X and EVDO.
