Have you been having Internet connection problems recently in Beijing?
Chinese technology website Ccw.com.cn has received complaints from the broadband users of China Netcom, which has been acquired by China Unicom, that their Internet connections have suffered intermittent interruptions in recent days. The problem reportedly started at midnight on February 17, 2009.
After receiving the complaints, Ccw.com.cn says it contacted China Unicom through its 10060 customer service hotline and the service center of China Unicom confirmed that its machine rooms in some areas had some problems, which caused Internet service interruptions of some users, yet no further comment was given.
Internet users as far away as Shanghai have complained this week of bottlenecks to get to overseas websites, but no solution unfortunately seems to be on the horizon.
