Chinese online auction website Taobao.com has announced plans to join forces with Zhejiang Provincial Department for Industry and Commerce to begin a pilot program for the online sale of healthcare food and products within Zhejiang province.
The parties will build a regulation mechanism for the online release of healthcare products by better organizing the existing healthcare food goods and temporarily suspending the release of healthcare food for one month in order to ask all healthcare food providers to have a nationally approved license number before they can be released.
Taobao.com will ask all healthcare food released to abide by its goods release management rule and other related rules and regulations. The e-commerce company, which is owned by Alibaba, will also work closely with local departments for industry and commerce and the health departments to ensure all healthcare food information is correctly published.
