China Telecom has already opened its 3G network interface card services nationwide and its CDMA-based 3G mobile phone services will reportedly be launched soon to enlarge the range of its 3G services. A representative from China Telecom Beijing said the company has made full preparation and has purchased more than ten types of CDMA-based 3G mobile phones. So far, China Telecom Beijing's over 3,000 EVDO base stations have covered all areas within the Fifth Ring road and major suburban districts of Beijing, which will ensure the smooth use of 3G mobile phones around the city's center.
In addition, China Telecom Beijing has announced that it will select 2,000 users in May 2009 to experience its eSurfing 3G mobile phones and services. Users who want to participate in this activity can login to China Telecom Beijing's online business hall at bj.ct10000.com to register. China Telecom Beijing will draw 2,000 people from the registered users, provide 3G mobile phones to them for free, and allow them to use its 3G services for free during a certain period.
China Telecom Beijing said the 3G mobile phones provided in this activity include those produced by Dopod, Samsung, and LG.
