China's encryption standards have a new international convert, as Sybase has succumbed to following the Chinese government's edicts on data security and has duly received a security certificate from the Chinese government.
The certificate has been issued for E-Secure Anywhere database, a co-branded product between Sybase and China's East Port Technology Company Ltd., a high-tech enterprise funded by China E-Port Data Center, China Telecom Group and CITIC 21st Century Telecom. With this new government certificate, E-Secure Anywhere can now be widely deployed in environments that require special security needs, such as government agencies.
Sybase states that the security certificate from China's State Password Administration Committee recognized E-Secure Anywhere's ability to meet the Chinese government's need for confidentiality as it provides robust security options to ensure end-to-end integrity of data exchanged between government agencies and enterprises.
