UTStarcom Plans Restructuring Measures

UTStarcom China has disclosed to local media that the company will focus its human resources on key departments like sales, service and R&D and will retain about 2000 staff for major markets including China and India.
UTStarcom will take four major measures for this restructuring — business integration, service integration, market integration and resource integration — while giving top priority to the development in China and India.
UTStarcom said it has been concentrating on IP communications for 18 months and some desired results have been achieved on this service in Chinese market.
Currently, the product line of UTStarcom include RollingStream IPTV, video information release system, iDTV solution, MobileTV, OpticalXpress EPON solution, PTN/MSTP and various mobile phone terminal products.
