Faced with weakened prospects for online media and booking services in the Chinese travel sector, companies and organizations have banded together to get through the difficult financial time.
Spearheaded by China.com.cn, China.travel and other Chinese Internet media, 33 Chinese media have formally set up the China Travel Internet Media Alliance to integrate tourism resources and create sustainable development within the industry.
Due to the negative impact of global financial crisis and the A (H1N1) influenza, China's tourism was hampered in the first half of 2009. The alliance will be a channel for the promotion of domestic tourist attractions and travel companies to confront the poor situation that may still last for quite a while.
Travel information of different provinces will be integrated and cross-media cooperation will be launched to offer valuable information to tourists in Greater China.
CRI Online, People.com.cn, Sohu.com and qq.com are also members of the alliance.
