Chinese search engine company Baidu.com has announced that it will launch a Chinese-language website for the U.S. television and multimedia giant Discovery Communications.
After the launch of this Chinese website, Baidu.com will be fully in charge of its construction, operation, management, and content updating; while Discovery, as the exclusive content provider of the website, will be responsible for providing the latest content that is customized and translated for the Chinese market.
According to Ren Xuyang, vice president for Baidu.com's marketing and business development, apart from sharing the advertising income brought by Discovery's programs, the two parties will implement cooperation in the development of e-commerce and distance education.
