TSMC Sets Up Two New Departments

Taiwanese semiconductor provider Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited has set up two new departments and announced executive appointments for these two departments.
The company said in a report that for the purpose of facilitating more effectively TSMC's manufacturing efficiency and customer partnerships, the company has established an operations organization and a business development organization. At the same time, Dr. Mark Liu is appointed senior vice general manager of the operations organization, responsible for the 12-inch wafer plants; while Dr. C.C. Wei is appointed senior vice general manager of the business development organization. Both of them report directly to the chairman of the company, Dr. Morris Chang.
In addition, the company said its six-inch and eight-inch fab operations will be merged into the Operations Organization at an appropriate future date.
