According to reports in Taiwanese local media, Taiwan-based Far Eastone Telecommunications has inked a cooperation with China Mobile in four areas, including roaming services, network interconnectivity, value-added services, and corporate networks.
With the cooperation, Far Eastone Telecommunications will introduce its three value-added services, including S Mart, e-book store, and mobile comics, to the users of China Mobile at the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010. Of these, the S Mart is an Android-based software store. At present, products from over 70 software developers are available in the store and at least 200 application software products will be provided at the end of this year.
Following the entry of S Mart, content service providers in Taiwan will also enter the Chinese mainland market and the two parties will implement cooperation in other sectors like international roaming, corporate networks, and network interconnections.
Prior to this, Far Eastone Telecommunications and China Mobile inked a strategic alliance agreement in April 2009.
