Shanda Confirms Online Game Joint Operation With Kingsoft

Li Yu, CEO of the Chinese online game operator Shanda, has confirmed that the company and Kingsoft will jointly operate the online game JX3 Online developed by Kingsoft.
This is also the first time for Kingsoft to jointly run this product with another operator. Prior to this, rumors circulated that the two parties will jointly operate Shanda's leisure game and electronic sports platform, Cga.com.cn.
During Shanda's recent conference call, Li announced that the company has already signed an agreement with Kingsoft to operator Kingsoft's JX3 Online via Shanda's game platform. Meanwhile, Shanda will continue to seek opportunities to enrich the experiences of its users.
Shanda also eyes joint operation cooperation with other industry partners in the near future. Apart from the one with Kingsoft, Shanda will sign an agreement with Beijing-based online game company Kylin to jointly operate the new expansion of Kylin's online game product, Genghis Khan. In addition, the company is aiming for an agreement with Giant Interactive Group.
Shanda's financial report for the third quarter of 2009 showed that it made net revenue of CNY1.27 billion, a year-on-year increase of 45% and an increase of 10% quarter-over-quarter. Its net profit was CNY366.6 million, a year-on-year increase of 39% and an increase of 1% quarter-over-quarter.
