IBM, Beijing University Of Technology Jointly Set Up Cloud Computing Experimental Platform

IBM has announced that it will cooperate with Beijing University of Technology to set up a cloud computing experimental platform, providing high-capacity computing resources and services to schools, enterprises, government, and open source communities in China.
Invested by the municipal government of Beijing, this project will be a public computing platform that offers support to education and research of schools, research and development of enterprises as well as municipal projects of the government to promote the development of remote systems.
This new project will adopt virtualized hardware equipment, standardized software versions, automated system management, and integrated service process to build a service-oriented cloud computing platform and replace the traditional data center.
Zhu Jinzhi, general manager of the cloud computing center of IBM Greater China, said that the cloud computing technology can provide a new technical framework to deal with various challenges in the global education and research sectors, including visit increases, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
