Chinese mainland mobile phone maker Coolpad has signed a strategic partnership memorandum with Taiwan's Asia Pacific Telecom, aiming to enter the Taiwanese market.
With the cooperation, the two parties will realize collective purchasing and exclusive sales. The products concerned cover all product lines, with prices ranging from CNY800 to CNY6,000. At the same time, Asia Pacific Telecom will enhance its promotion of Coolpad products. According to the planning of the two parties, Coolpad is expected to gain 30% market share in Taiwan's CDMA2000 market in the next five years.
In addition, Asia Pacific Telecom will give priority to Coolpad for network tests and upgrades while implementing in-depth cooperation in new technologies and new businesses with the mainland mobile phone maker.
Coolpad and Asia Pacific Telecom will reportedly focus on medium- and high-end products and dual-mode mobile phones to explore the high-end business market in Taiwan. The first Coolpad product launched in Taiwan will be Coolpad N900 and more new products, including Coolpad N92 and Coolpad N91, will be available in Taiwan in the future.
