China Mobile, Far Eastone Team For TD-LTE Wireless Trials

China Mobile and Taiwanese Far Eastone Telecommunications have reportedly signed a cooperation memorandum to jointly construct a TD-LTE trial network and promote the development of TD-LTE technologies.
According to reports in Taiwanese local media, executives from Far Eastone stated that the company will provide the telecom operating platform, equipment, and services to become a bridge between upstream and downstream fourth-generation mobile communications technologies providers. It will lead the transfer from WiMax to TD-LTE in Taiwan, provide a TD-LTE verification base for Taiwanese terminal and chip manufacturers, and promote Taiwan's advantages and development in the TD-LTE industry.
The company said that China Mobile is also optimistic about the development of 4G technologies. The two parties will cooperate in encouraging the construction of 4G trial networks as well as related research and development in Taiwan to create a 4G technology and application industry chain.
Apart from Far Eastone, Vibo and Chunghwa Telecom, two other telecom enterprises from Taiwan, are also cooperating targets of China Mobile for the development of TD-LTE networks.
