American semiconductor company Broadcom has announced the appointment of Li Tingwei as its new senior vice president of sales for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong and president of Greater China.

With the appointment, Li will be responsible for sales strategy and operations, business development and partner programs of Broadcom Greater China. In addition, he will lead Broadcom's engagement with regional standards and policy setting organizations.

Before joining Broadcom, Li worked for Marvell as global vice president and China general manager. Prior to Marvell, he served Qualcomm and Lucent Technologies.

Li gained a Ph.D. in experimental physics from Leiden University in the Netherlands, a Master of Science degree from the Chinese Academy of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He formally joined Broadcom on July 8, 2013, and is based in Shanghai.
