Contec Innovations (Contec), a global provider of mobile data infrastructure, has announced that the Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre Ltd. (HKWDC) for the deployment of Contec's Hornet DE mobile services delivery platform.

The Hornet will be installed in HKWDC's facility at Cyberport in Hong Kong SAR and will be connected to all six mobile operators in Hong Kong: CSL, Hutchison, SmarTone, Sunday, New World and Peoples. Hornet is a standards-based mobile services delivery platform enabling rapid development and deployment of new mobile data applications across all major communication modalities (text, multimedia messaging, WAP, email, etc.).

For this project, Contec is deploying the new Hornet Developer Edition (DE), specifically designed for development and test facilities such as the HKWDC, and Contec is anticipating the installation will take place in the second quarter of this year. HKWDC will manage the system and be the first line of support for the development community in Hong Kong.
