Cooperation between Beijing Ringier and Encyclopedia of China Publishing House Enters into New Stage

Beijing, China (October 09, 2009) /ChinaNewswire.com/ — On Oct. 7th, 2009, Encyclopedia of China Publishing House and Beijing Ringier International Advertising Co. Ltd. held the contract renewal ceremony regarding their cooperation on City Weekend in Zurich. Ms. Gong Li, the president of Encyclopedia of China Publishing House, Mr. Thomas Trueb, the president of Ringier Pacific and Mr. Tim Murray, the CEO of Ringier China attended the ceremony and signed the contracts.

Beijing Ringier started strategic cooperation with Encyclopedia of China Publishing House in 2000, as the exclusive ad agent of City Weekend. Through both parties' nine year effort, the magazine has become a leading English entertainment magazine.

During this period, the cooperation between the two parties expanded further. Cooperation expanded to include Betty's Kitchen book series and the History of Chinese Civilization book series (German version). Betty's Kitchen book series is now the best selling cook book series in China. The German version of History of Chinese Sports and History of the Forbidden City were praised by General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, and the China Publishing Group.
