Net.cn, the largest domain name registration and virtual host service provider in China, has announced that it will reduce the price of many domain name and web hosting services. This move is expected to increase demand in the purchase of domain names and also signal to competitors a new price battle.

Net.cn will also offer more discounts to its partners and increase their revenue share agreements by as much as 20%. This means that anyone who currently joins Net.cn as a reseller will be able to sell domain names and virtual hosting at the lowest price in China. A normal .cn domain name now on Net.cn is selling for CNY200.

In addition, Net.cn has adopted many new credit policies that give the company the ability to refund prepaid fees.

The company has told local media that by no means do they intend to lower the service quality when making such adjustments and they expect the changes to drive demand for their services.
