It was announced in Beijing this past weekend during the China Network Game and Youth Education Forum that China will soon publish new standards for computer games.

The new standards will introduce guidelines for the selection of foreign-made games introduced to China, game violence, and relevant monitoring measures.

According to Tuo Zuhai, deputy director of the Cultural Market Division of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Information Industry are working on drafting the basic rules for computer games. Their aim is to make Chinese-made computer games dominate the domestic market in the next five years.
