Telecom service provider China Netcom has announced the establishment of a new broadband online company.

The new company is called China Netcom Broadband Online Co., Ltd. One of its major line of businesses will be broadband value-added services, which is important to fixed telecom operator's development in China. China Netcom has called this company the first whole video frequency portal in China.

Before setting up this company, China Netcom had already established a broadband company called Tian Tian Zai Xian, but the company has performed poorly and China Netcom has long wanted to withdraw from its business. However there is no word yet on the fate of Tian Tian Zai Xian and whether it will last through the rest of 2006 as a going concern.
