SAP China has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Ministry of Education on jointly strengthening the economic management and information technology at institutions of higher learning in China.

As an active participant and supporter of China's knowledge sector, SAP China says it has been committed to bringing its over 30 years' experience in informationization into the China market since 1995. Besides cooperating with domestic research institutes and universities, it says it has been fulfilling its commitment to personnel, technology, marketing and capital support in China's software industry by setting up an SAP China Research Institute.

Klaus Zimmer, CEO of SAP North Asia and China Region, says that SAP has long been obligated to run its business with a strong sense of social responsibility and has placed corporate social responsibility as its top priority in carrying out its business strategy in China.

According to the agreement with Ministry of Education, SAP will carry out in-depth cooperation with Chinese universities on discipline construction, talent training, joint scientific research and vocational education. SAP hopes to further deepen its support to China's education causes through this cooperation.
