Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi province, has become the first Chinese city to promote tourism electronic contracts.

Chinese telecommunications operator China Unicom has announced that after launching online enquiry and payment functions for mobile phone users across China, the company has now opened a fixed line payment function that is available in 10 northern Chinese cities and provinces, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Henan.
