The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) was a governmental regulatory body in China responsible for overseeing the country’s radio, film, and television industries. Established in 1998, SARFT played a key role in regulating the content and dissemination of media within China, ensuring it aligned with the government’s policies and values. In 2013, SARFT was restructured and its responsibilities were absorbed into the newly established State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television (SAPPRFT).
