China has signed an agreement with the Association of South East Asian Nations to increase cooperation on information and communications technology.
The agreement spans a range of areas of common interest, including human resource development, information infrastructure, technology development, best practices and compatibility. It also calls for an annual China-ASEAN Information and Communications Technology Seminar.
The ASEAN nations are looking to deepen their own cooperation on ICT, and last week signed an agreement will eventually bind them together in a political-security, economic and socio-cultural community similar to the European Union.
