Mobile Karaoke Partnership Announced

November 9, 2004
Internet

Linktone (NASDAQ: LTON) announced that it has signed a cooperative agreement with Korea's Aon Media to develop, localize and provide JAVA-based wireless karaoke applications and content to Chinese mobile users.

As the largest provider of mobile music in Korea, Aon Media maintains a library of over 40,000 Chinese songs for mobile karaoke.

Users of the new Linktone karaoke product will be able to download the application and a fixed number of songs to their JAVA-enabled mobile phones for a per-download charge. Users will then be able to sing along with the polyphonic tunes of the selected songs, while viewing animated pictures with rolling lyrics displayed on the screens of their handsets.

Karaoke has become a significant cultural phenomenon in Asia, particularly in China, Japan and Korea. Given the tremendous success of mobile karaoke in Korea, Linktone believes that the product will appeal to millions of Chinese karaoke fans, enabling them to enjoy mobile karaoke any time, anywhere, with friends or alone.
