New Chinese Input Method Approved

A new type of Chinese inputting method called "Chinese T9" has received authentication from the China National Language Commission and Language Standard Testing Center.

The software used for Chinese T9 is developed by US Tegic Communications. It supports two Chinese standards including simple stroke 13000 and simple stroke 18030.

Chinese character standards based on Chinese T9 inputting method and Chinese T9 word group inputting software will be applied on Chinese mobile phones. There is no indication yet which mobile phone manufacturers have adopted this approved technology.
