Nanjing Telecom Launches Weapon Against SMS Fraud

November 8, 2005
Security

In response to the frequent fraud perpetuated via SMS, Nanjing Telecom has launched a "Dajia E" service that is said to effectively bar illegal deeds through high-tech means.

"Dajia e" enables fixed phones to have the function of sending and receiving short messages after gaining a fixed address. In so doing, it can help track the short message content and originating number of the sender.

In addition, the technology has the filtering software from the General Administration of Press and Publication embedded into it so as to identify harmful content before it can be sent.
