CNNIC Official Takes Email Management Position

International standard organization Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has announced Dr. Li Xiaodong, director of the Technology Department of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), has been appointed as the joint chair of Email Address Internationalization (EAI) team.

Established in March 2006, EAI is a work team under IETF that is specialized in internationalization of email addresses and technology research. Harald Alvestrand, former chair of IETF, works as EAI's chair.

CNNIC is China's internet address and resource registration and management organization. It says it is committed to the development and application of Internet multi-language communication technology and to providing convenience to Chinese Internet users.
