Joyo.com Shifts To Follow Amazon's Lead

Joyo.com, one of the largest online shopping malls in China, announced that it has shifted into a comprehensive B2C website that deals with home appliances, digital products and daily necessities.

With this shift away from only selling books, the goods on Joyo.com have increased from the previous 45000 to 450,000. Meanwhile, the number of cities where the company has service has now increased from 109 and 308.

Wang Hanhua, president of Joyo.com, tell local media that although Joyo still uses its original website system for online shopping, it has begun to draw experience from Amazon in goods delivery, logistics and storage.

In June this year, Joyo.com also signed an agreement with Sohu.com to manage the latter's online shopping service.

Statistics show that the top four B2C websites in China currently are Dangdang.com, Joyo.com, Sohu.com and 800buy, each of which is taking 26.87%, 10.71, 3.32% and 2.36% of the market share, respectively.
