Microsoft Begins Exploring Online Advertising In China

No longer content with only selling software products in China, Microsoft (MSFT) has now turned its eyes to the fast growing online advertisement market in the country.

Microsoft's general manager of global market business of the company's digital advertisement solutions Eric Hardley Eric Hardley says Microsoft will speed up the integration of its online systems in China and make use of its resources to launch digital advertisement solutions. Hardley says that Microsoft will also promote the advertisement services on Office online.

Statistics show that China's online advertisement market reached CNY3.23 billion in 2005, an increase of 59.83% compared with the same period of the previous year. It is estimated that driven by the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the market scale will reach CNY6.87 billion in 2008.
