Taobao.com Saw Over CNY100 Million During New Year Holiday

With more Chinese netizens getting familiar with online shopping, online trading platform Taobao.com is seeing bigger transaction volumes each day.

In the last month of 2006, consumers spent more than CNY90 million on Taobao.com each day and the figure broke CNY100 million per day during the official three-day 2007 New Year holiday. At present, Taobao.com accounts for about 80% of the individual online user transaction market in China.

A representative from Taobao.com says that the goods sold on their website during the past holiday frenzied buying season were mostly mobile phones.
