Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry has published its operating results for June 2011, stating that its operating revenue during the month reached NTD228.4 billion, which was about USD7.93 billion, a new height over the past six months.
The company said that the growth was mainly because of the growing demands for consumer electronic products such as tablet computers, as well as PCs.
Statistics showed that in June 2011, Hon Hai's operating revenue increased by 15.6% compared with the same period of last year and it also increased by 13.88% compared with the previous month. A representative from the company said that the strong demand for consumer electronic products and PCs promoted the company's performance. He said that there are indications showing that the market demands in May and June this year were not so weak as before.
During the second quarter of 2011, Hon Hai's operating revenue increased by 23.2% year-on-year to NTD633 billion, about USD21.98 billion. Terry Guo, chairman of Hon Hai, said that the company will see an annual growth of at least 15% over the next five year, and smart TVs and smartphones will be the two major engines. Hon Hai is reportedly the first to produce the Google-branded TV products.
Guo predicted that with Hon Hai's one plant in Shenzhen being moved to Chengdu and the growing of its capacity, the company's operating revenue will continue to increase in the second half of 2011.
