The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has published the latest report for the Chinese home appliances and electronics industry on its official website, stating that the manufacturing and sales of these products saw a record growth surge in 2011.
MIIT said that stimulated by the government's home appliances rural subsidy scheme and the trade-in policy, the Chinese home appliances industry achieved breakthroughs in various areas, including output, sales, and exports.
From January to December 2011, the combined industrial sales output value of the Chinese home appliances industry increased by 21.8% over 2010; the combined production and marketing rate reached 94.9%; and the combined export delivery value increased by 15.4%.
In December alone, the industrial sales output value increased by 17.8% year-on-year; the production and marketing rate reached 92.2%; and the export delivery value increased by 10.2% year-on-year.
By detail, from January to December 2011, the combined output of household refrigerators was 86.992 million units, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%; the combined output of household freezers was 18.728 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%; the combined output of air-conditioners was 139.125 million, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%; and the combined output of household washing machines was 66.712 million, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%.
