Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei published its audited annual results for 2012.
According to the report, Huawei achieved global sales of CNY220.2 billion in 2012; while its net profit increased by 24.5% year-on-year to CNY15.38 billion. At the same time, the company predicted that its compound annual growth rate is expected to maintain a rate of 10% over the next five years. So far, Huawei has about 150,000 employees worldwide.
Huawei's business units achieved revenue growth in 2012. Its operator network business realized sales of CNY160.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%; its enterprise business reached sales of CNY11.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.8%; and its consumer business reached sales of CNY48.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%.
By region, Huawei's revenue from EMEA was CNY77.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%; its revenue from Asia Pacific was CNY37.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%; its revenue from Americas was CNY31.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%; and its revenue from China was CNY73.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.
In addition, Huawei's research and development expenditure in 2012 was CNY30.09 billion, accounting for 13.7% of its sales. By the end of 2012, the company had established 16 research and development centers and 28 joint innovation centers around the world.
