Korea-based CDNetworks has expanded its global network security solutions for its clients in China and Japan.
The company says it added distributed denial of service protection to the global network of 140 Points of Presence. CDNetworks DDoS protection detects, absorbs, and defends against attack traffic, so the impact is hopefully minimized.
"We've been operating our cloud security service in Asia for more than six years and have defended some of the largest attacks in attack-prone regions such as Korea, Japan and China," said Jeff Kim, president and COO at CDNetworks.
Released in Korea in 2008, CDNetworks DDoS protection has reportedly mitigated attacks for close to 50 customers, including government websites, gaming sites, and multinational consumer goods. Malicious traffic is filtered and quarantined while legitimate traffic continues to flow to customer websites, reducing any impact on end-users and revenue.
