Microsoft's Office Mobile running on Android devices will be launched in the Chinese mainland market in the following weeks.
Microsoft launched this application first in America in July 2013 and it has been deployed to many key markets in Asia. At present, this product is available in 14 countries and regions in Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan. The company added languages like Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese into its support range, increasing the number of supported languages to 33.
Users will be able to download Office Mobile from Google Play, the online app store of Google; however, only subscribers of Office 365 can use this new application. With this product, users can access, view and edit Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint documents from virtually anywhere. When the files are opened, they will be optimized to fit the small-sized screen of smartphone.
Office Mobile features a cloud platform, which allows users to access Office documents that are stored on SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro, or SharePoint. The documents recently viewed by users on their computers are readily available on their phones in the recent documents panel.
