Talkweb Gains Operating Right Of Plants Vs Zombies 2 In Mainland China

China-based Talkweb Information System Company Limited announced that it has signed an operating cooperation agreement with US-based Electronic Arts to operate Plants vs Zombies 2 in mainland China.

EA is an American third-party game developer and operator and PopCap, developer of Plants vs Zombies, became its subsidiary in July 2011.

At the beginning of 2008, PopCap launched its Asia Pacific game development base in Shanghai, which develops new leisure games for Asian markets, including China. Those games include Plants vs Zombies, Bejeweled series, and the Zuma series. Starting from 2011, Plants vs Zombies and Bejeweled were operated by Talkweb in the Chinese mainland market. During the first half of 2013, Talkweb's operating revenue of mobile game business reached CNY22.77 million, accounting for 10.24% of the total revenue of the company.

Under the agreement between Talkweb and EA, Talkweb will be the Chinese mainland operating agency for Plants vs Zombies 2 and Bejeweled Blitz, and the operating platforms include carrier platforms and third-party app stores like 91 and UC. As the operator, Talkweb will gain about 25% share of the total revenue.
