According to reports in foreign media, British artificial intelligence company Prowler.io announced that they recently completed a financing round of USD24 million, which was led by Chinese Internet company Tencent.
After the financing, the valuation of Prowler.io reached USD100 million.
Prowler.io said that apart from Tencent, other investors included Pearson Plc., Amadeus Capital Partners, Atlantic Bridge, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Mandatum Life, Passion Capital, RB Capital, and Singapore Innovate.
Prowler.io was established in 2016. Its AI technologies can help enterprises make decisions in investment portfolio balancing and supply chain and logistics management.
It is said that the company will use the newly raised fund to publish products and explore new areas such as education.
Ge Ling, Tencent's chief representative in Europe, said in a statement that Tencent hopes that Prowler.io can apply its AI decision making system to more extensive customers, including Tencent's affiliates. Ge also said that Prowler.io focuses on data effective learning methods and "human-machine cooperation" technologies, which distinguishes it from other AI companies.
