Tesla has launched its 100th Supercharger location and 1,000th Supercharger in Shanghai. Tesla also opened 6 Supercharger locations in Beijing at the end of August, increasing the total number of its Superchargers in the capital of China to nearly 800.

In Shanghai, Tesla’s first China-based Supercharger station was launched in Jinqiao Town in April 2014. Currently, Tesla’s charging network already covers all 16 districts of Shanghai. In February this year, Tesla’s Supercharger manufacturing plant in Shanghai began production focussing on V3 Superchargers. Tesla says that a V3 Supercharger can add 250 km of range for a Model 3 in 15 minutes.

As of today, Tesla has deployed over 900 Supercharger locations in more than 300 cities across China, with a total number of over 7,000 Superchargers. In June this year, Tesla China completed the Silk Road Supercharger corridor and says it is the longest it built to date. According to a tweet from Tesla’s Chinese account, the route from east to west in China reaches 5,000 kilometres (just over 3,100 miles).
