India to join China in banning all private cryptocurrencies

A new bill that would create a framework for establishing an official digital currency and ‘prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India’ has been added to the upcoming agenda of India’s parliament. A plan to ban all private cryptocurrencies came just days after India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi argued things like bitcoin could end up in the ‘wrong hands and ‘spoil our youth.’ New proposal was announced today by the Lok Sabha, the member of India ’s house of representatives.
