In fact, 50 other countries have banned cryptography, according to a report by the Global Legal Research Directorate of the Law Library of Congress. Their post was first reported by Decrypt. The November report found that the number of countries banning crypto has “grown significantly” since the research was first published in 2018. Now, nine countries have an absolute ban, which makes crypto illegal, and 42 have an implied ban, which prohibits financial institutions from dealing with crypto. That brings the...
