China has begun mining social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter in order to obtain data from Western targets. This is done for the military, police and government agencies. Washington Post has reviewed the bidding documents for more than 300 Chinese government projects and found that they are purchasing sophisticated and newer data surveillance systems.
