For the MMORPG Albion Online development team, the past year has been full of many different events, from the launch of the game on mobile devices to the major changes brought about by updates to Call to Arms and Lands Awakened.
In March 2021, the Call to Arms update was released, which reworked the PvP mode and added new features to the game. The developers also reworked the faction war system and transport options to support different play styles. Along with these changes, the update added a new faction, equipment, mounts for elite factions, new zones, maps and events to the game.
Albion Online was released on mobile in June 2021. Immediately before launch, the game had about 150,000 active accounts on smartphones. After launching on mobile devices, their number grew to 271,000 in just one week.
Lands Awakened is the biggest update to Albion Online to date. It not only changed the gameplay of the open world, but also added new visual touches to each biome, and some were significantly redesigned. To add complexity, mobs were introduced, which over time increase their level and improve.
Also, the Albion Online developers announced that the team is already working on the next major update, and a new stream with the authors of the game will soon take place.
