China to require cybersecurity checks for global companies schedule Jan 5, 2022 print Reuters reports the Cyberspace Administration of China will begin enforcing rules Feb. 15 that will require cybersecurity reviews for some Chinese companies with international business. Organizations holding personal data of more than 1 million users will undergo mandated reviews in order to gain clearance to list shares with overseas markets. The CAC said the new rules will work to thwart a "risk that key information infrastructure, core data, important data or a large amount of personal information could be impacted, controlled or maliciously used by foreign governments."
