With the fifth wave of Covid-19 infections forcing schools and universities in Hong Kong to conduct lessons online, many teachers and parents are concerned that the quality of teaching will suffer. Some claim students learn more effectively on campus, where they can interact with their teachers and peers in person. As a university teacher and parent of a 12-year-old, I believe the pandemic offers a valuable opportunity to reconsider how to teach young people most effectively.
