Fisher & Paykel Appliances cuts 44 staff in New Zealand

One of New Zealand’s largest employers is laying off more than 40 staff, with the company’s chief executive attributing the decision to changing consumer preferences.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances, owned by multinational group Haier, confirmed to the Herald its decision to make 44 staff redundant in June 2026.
