Chinese tech giant Baidu Inc. officially renamed its cross-platform artificial intelligence agent GenFlow to "Kuku AI" on Friday and launched dedicated standalone applications to capture a growing share of the domestic AI productivity market.
Announced during the company's AI Day event, the rollout includes dedicated PC desktop software, web interfaces, mini-programs, and a enterprise version designed for corporate clients.
The move marks a strategic shift for Baidu as it consolidates AI capabilities from its Wenku document sharing and Drive cloud storage platforms into an independent workspace tool. The company revealed that GenFlow surpassed 100 million monthly active users in April, with monthly active users for its specialized AI office tools exceeding 25 million following exponential growth among white-collar workers.
Kuku AI relies on a multi-agent orchestration setup that enables users to issue a single natural language command to operate specialized software tools simultaneously. The system coordinates sub-agents capable of generating, converting, and editing slides, spreadsheets, and word processing documents in a single workflow.
The platform also expands into multimedia and software development, generating AI-based posters, promotional videos, podcasts, mind maps, code scripts, mini-programs, and web pages from simple text prompts.
By offering granular online editing across these file formats, Baidu is positioning Kuku AI to compete directly with rival productivity suites offered by Tencent, Alibaba, and Microsoft in China's rapidly expanding enterprise AI ecosystem.
