Sextortion is a new tactic in South-East Asia's multi-billion-dollar fraud industry, with investigators finding children are becoming victims as criminal networks expand beyond romance scams and cryptocurrency fraud. Researchers have found that compounds along the Thai-Myanmar border, as well as in Cambodia, are increasingly instructing trafficked workers to blackmail victims using intimate images.
